What do you mean it’s August and the PGA Tour is down to the final Fed Ex Cup championship? Where did the first 7 months of 2019 go? What did I miss?
Stop the whining and get on with it. 2019 has been filled with thrills – Tiger winning the Masters. Excitement – Brooks winning the PGA Championship for 2nd year. Unexpected – Gary Woodland winning the US Open. Sentimental – Shane Lowry, Irishman, winning the Open in Ireland. Yes, the year has gone by fast and memorable.
Now we move into the Fed Ex Cup competition with only the top 125 teeing up for the title and the money. Who do you place your bet on – Brooks is the easy pick, Webb Simpson game is on fire, Rory is interesting, or how about the young guns in Wolfe and Morikawa? My wager is going with John Rahm with Rickie Fowler putting on a strong bid.
But what is cool is that August is the beginning of the Sportsman Paradise! Golf is coming to close; football is gearing up and baseball is sliding into playoff runs. If you are into sports this is the time of year you dream of. Plenty of TV coverage to fill your days and dreams with highlights and ESPN Top Plays of the Day. Yes, more than half the year is over, but it’s been exciting and what is to come is filled with hopes of a Houston World Series win, Texans march to the playoffs and a star filled Houston Open.
Go ahead and enjoy. You deserve it.
